Are your systems compatible with wireless technology?
Yes, wireless technology is an integral part of the entire System. Our solution includes the installation of a complete wireless network within the healthcare facility. Mobile medication carts, handheld devices and terminals are all operated using RF wireless technology.
What are the connectivity requirements for your systems?
All mobile devices, including handheld devices and med carts, are connected via RF wireless communication that requires 110V power for the LAN connection at the RF antennas. Approximately 1 antenna (or access point) is required for every 20 beds. For facility-specific connectivity requirements (cabling, access points, etc.) please contact your Customer Care Representative.
Stationary medication management units require 110V power, preferably on the facility’s UPS, and a mode of communication (LAN, direct-dial, etc.) Approximately 1 med management unit fulfills the med pass requirements for every 20 beds.
Do your systems support fail-safe data protection?
Yes, all of our Systems operate in a mirrored redundancy to the main server providing fail-safe data integrity. Additionally, all data is continually backed-up to our Internet based “virtual Servers”, via a proprietary HIPAA-compliant protocol, providing multiple layers of data protection.
Can additional units or peripheral devices be added later?
Of course, there is no limit to the number of medication management units that may be linked to accommodate growing medication and supply needs. The System is completely scalable and units may be added, or reconfigured, at any time post-installation.
What is the “life expectancy” of your equipment?
10-15 years for stationary med dispensing devices, and 5-10 years for mobile dispensing units, depending on actual usage. All System software has been developed using the most technologically advanced, off-the-shelf tools that are commercially available, making it both open to change as regulations evolve and scalable to users input.
Do your systems support barcoding and biometrics?
Yes, to both items. Barcoding is found throughout the application software to verify users, patients, medications, lab tests and other safety authentication measures to satisfy the “5 R’s”. Additionally, we were, and remain, the industry leaders in the use of biometrics (thumb-print scanning, etc.) to satisfy evolving State Boards of Pharmacy standards regarding “Positive Identification”.
