FAQ: Software
What are the operating systems and releases used?
Workstations use Windows 98 and higher, while servers use Microsoft NT and SQL Server. If the facility already has a multi-seat license for Windows-compatible products then they may be offered an additional pricing discount over and above the discounts normally offered when acquiring multiple products and/or when purchasing through your GPO. Speak to your Customer Care Representative about discounts you might be eligible to receive.

What databases are used?
Microsoft Access, SQL, and Oracle8 remain the industry standard and are used extensively throughout our integrated System. Any proprietary legacy database maintained by the facility must be able to “communicate” with these commercially available databases.

Are your systems HL-7 and HIPAA compliant?
Yes, to both items. Our application software was developed through rigorous compliance of the HL-7 standard, making it some of the most reliable and easily integrated software in the industry. We were also one of lead developers of the HIPAA data transfer protocol standard and one of the earliest integrators of the entire HIPAA standard. We remain active in HIPAA’s evolution protecting patient information.

Do your systems support a completely paperless system?
Of course, however it is up to the healthcare facility to develop the standards, implement the program, and reinforce the employee’s commitment to a completely paperless system.

What are the information system capabilities of your systems?
Both a Clinical Support module and Decision Support module is available as a function of a fully deployed System solution. Some of the functions and features are:
