FAQ: Service
How are the systems needs of a facility are determined?
We conduct a complete systems analysis of your facility, with specific emphasis on:

  • Review of medication distribution and procedures

  • Detailed configuration of ApotheTech system

  • RF survey and system design

  • Network survey and configuration design

  • ADT/PIS interface specification

  • Medication storage unit configuration

  • Base station hardware configuration

  • Project cost quotation

  • Preliminary installation schedule

The number of beds, floor size, and type of floor are all components in customizing equipment needs. ApotheTech will also require your formulary information and the healthcare facility's medication replenishment cycle in order to establish the appropriate service levels.

Can your systems support a multi-site configuration?
Yes, it is an integral part of the overall design of our System to support multi-facility entities, including a multi-facility formulary, inventory, patient locations, patient numbering, reporting, etc. through a WAN interfacing with the systems ADT to the Central Data Base and Server.

Are there multi-level access privilege definitions?
Yes, the database has multi-level access configurability that may be defined by the healthcare facility’s existing policies and procedures. Additionally, a number of customizable user templates are available to hasten user setup including:

  • Nursing: separate templates for Managers, direct caregivers, temp &
    agency, etc.

  • Pharmacy: separate templates for Managers, Pharmacists, Pharm Tech’s,
    etc.

  • Information Systems: Super User priv’s, Report-only priv’s, etc.

  • Executive Management: templates for CFO (auditing), VP Nursing, etc.

Do your systems support “positive identification”?
Yes, we were the pioneers in using biometrics to complete user authentication in support of evolving State Boards of Pharmacy standards for “positive identification”. We specifically utilize thumb-print verification in place of manually typing in a password but may also use other means for facilities requiring more cost-conscious methods.

What are the security feature capabilities of your systems?
ApotheTech’s Systems have many advanced security features. All users are given a two-tier user authentication scheme (a unique ID along with an encrypted password) with definable privileges based on their needs, training, etc. If a user is not given access to a software function, he/she will not be presented with the corresponding menu item. User definable times automatically log off users and all transactions are data and time stamped by user ID. Audit trails are available on-line and the system's administrator can easily change/add/delete passwords or users.
