Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO device cannot start – Code 10 WiFi error

If you own a Windows 10 tablet like I do – I own an Acer Iconia W4 tablet that still runs latest generation of Windows 10. The Windows updates are on and sometimes, these updates do more harm than fixing issues.

Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO device cannot start

The latest update made the WiFi on my Windows tablet unusable. The driver simply was not even able to start the Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO device

For this, we will rolling back to the driver that used to work with it. Download the driver from here and make sure you get the zip version by clicking on download icon on top right corner. It will show you a warning but click on download anyway

Now, you will have to transfer it using USB or Bluetooth to your Windows tablet. If you can think of any other way, go for it. We just need to get the aforementioned drivers onto the tablet.

Once you’ve done that, extract the zip file and start the setup. This will overwrite the current drivers that are misbehaving and not working properly.

It will ask you to restart the tablet. Do it and voila, WiFi is working again on your Windows tablet.
