Lenovo has released not one but four new android tablets today, IdeaTab A7-30, IdeaTab A7-50, IdeaTab IdeaTab A8 and A10, all of which will be making their in Q2 2014.

The first tablet with Rockchip RK3288 will soon be out by iFive, a Chinese company. Meanwhile we were able to check out the performance and benchmarks of Rockchip RK3288 CPU. The first tablet to use is called iFive Mini 3 and it packs 8.9 inch display, 2GB RAM, front and rear camera and runs Android operating system.

As you can see above, the processor is backed by ARM Mali T760 GPU. Compared to the outgoing RK3188 from Rockchip, let us see how the RK3288 fares in GFXbench 2.7 T-REX HD and 2.5 Egypt HD.

As you can see RK3288 is a massive improvement over the RK3188 that was used in wide range of Chinese tablets. This is chiefly due to the fact that RK3288 has Cortex A17 architecture and runs at 1.8 GHz. RK3188 runs at 1.6 GHz and is based on Cortex A9 which is much inferior than A17. In other words, the new chip is about 50 percent faster in CPU performance. 

Overmax a China based company has released a 7 inch tablet called Newbase 3. Featuring a distinctive colored housing the tablet features a 7 inch screen display, dual core Cortex A7 processor that hums at 1.2 GHz and backed by 1 gigabytes of RAM.

Computer manufacture Asus has launched the Padfone Mini 4.3 in the German market. The phone is priced at EUR 379 which is a decent size for something that doubles as tablet.

The specifications of this phone are identical to what you find a mid-range Android phone but it should be quite speedy thanks to the quad core processor from Qualcomm.

The specifications of tablet are 7 inch screen, 1280×800 pixel resolution, 2200 mAh battery and 310 grams weight.

The phone was released last year in December and we have been waiting for its arrival in German market. Its launch in Germany was quite surprising and unexpected as Asus never sent a press invite about it to anyone.

Xiaomi Redmi Note has been launched in China which is basically a Chinese version of Lenovo S898T. Specifications include a 5.3 inch display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixel resolution, a MediaTek 8-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz backed by 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal flash storage that is expandable through micro SD card. All this for USD 129 but there is another model that goes for $159 which gives you 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB for storage.

Interestingly Lenovo also sells S898T for $126 in China which is same as Xiaomi Redmi Note. Xiaomi has equipped it with a 3200 mAh battery and at 7.9mm, it is relatively thin and also made ​​very compact by design. So far, only one TD-SCDMA model China is planned.

So even if you import one into your country it would not work as it has Chinese GSM bands.

Gigaset has released QV830 and QV1030 at the CeBIT 2014 technology event. Both have quad cores processors and run Android 4.2 jelly bean operating system. Many do not know that Gigaset is a German company that is popular for making cordless phones for home and office use.

Goclever has launched a slew of new tablets in the market, Quantum 1010, 1010m, 785m and Insignia 800. First is the Insignia 800 with 8 inch display. Powered by 4 core Intel Atom processor, its specifications include 2 gigabytes of RAM, and 32 GB of flash storage. There is a micro SD card on board too that can be used to expand its small internal storage. The screen is IPS type.

Technical specs of Goclover Insignia 800 also include network card, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS (optional), offering modem data transmission standard 3G (optional), 5-megapixel main camera with a dedicated video connections 2 megapixel sensor, and a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh , which according to the manufacturer will provide up to four hours. The best part about it is the fact it comes with dual operating systems onboard. You get both Android and Windows 8 OS pre-installed.

Second is Goclover Insignia 1010 with windows 8.1 operating system. Priced at USD 999, it has same specs as the Insignia 800 but comes with bigger 10.1 inch display and lacks Android OS.

The Insignia 785m is similar to Insignia 800 but lacks dual boot OS. It runs Android 4.2 jelly bean operating system and offers more than 7.5 hours of battery life.

For the first time, we have a real life photo of the Xiaomi tablet that is being manufactured in China. It features a screen size of 9.2 inches and packs a resolution of 1200×720. Until now, we only had some information of it that was obtained from GFXbench website. It is expected to have entry level specs.

The back of the tablet resembles the first generation iPad where it had a curved design. However, Xiomi’s CEO does not want to known as “China’s Apple”.

We also have come to know that it will have SIM slot that lets you stay connected on the move. Price and full specification sheet is not available but we are sure it will be cheaper than other 3G tablets out there. 

Xiaomi Mi3 Review

Taipower a Chinese tablet maker is now offering an x86 based tablet. Called the Teclast P90, it features Intel Core Z2580 processor that is clocked up to 2 GHz. Specs include 8.9 inch Samsung sourced IPS retina display, 1920×1200 pixel resolution, 2 GB LPDDR2 RAM and 7000 mAh lithium ion battery.

Battery life is said to be around 10 hours or 100 days of standby time. While unit measures only 8.3 mm. There is a 2 MP and 5 MP front and rear camera as well. For communication, you get WiDi, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The back of the Teclast Intel P90 looks very much like an elongated iPhone 5s. It is on sale with a price tag of 999 Chinese Yuan that rounds to USD 160.

Chinese company Vido, after enjoying the success of W10 tablet is going to launch W11 tablet that will feature 10.1 inch display, built in 3G, GPS and would run Windows 8.1 operating system.

Vido W10 Review

Last month, we posted review of W10 and we were fairly impressed with it. The W11 has same innards as the W10 but packs built in 3G and an additional USB 2.0 port. Other than that, it offers similar performance since both pack Atom Z3770 quad core processor backed by 4 gigabytes of RAM.
