Intel Xeon E7-8895 v3 was quietly launched today by the company and it currently the most powerful x86 processor for servers. Intel Xeon E7-8895 v3 has total of 18 cores which with hyper threading gives you 36 logical cores that can be configured on the fly depending on the load.

Intel Xeon E7-8895 v3 specifications: 22 nm Haswell-EX processor with base frequency of 2.6 GHz and 3.5 GHz in turbo more, a 45 MB cache, DDR3 / DDR4 memory that supports up to 1536 GB of memory and 32 PCI-Express 3.0 lines with a TDP of 175 watts.

As mentioned earlier, you can change the number of cores in action and the operating frequency at any time remotely without having to make any changes physically. However, these functions are currently only supported by the Oracle Server X5-4 that was announced recently.

For now, the  Xeon E7-8895 v3 is only available to Oracle customers, and nobody knows when it will be sold to other customers. Price tag is also unknown but it will be close to 7200 dollars.

Samsung introduced new improved keyboard in Android 5 lollipop but has not made it available for the Galaxy Note 3 Neo. Fortunately XDA has made it available by porting it to Note 3 Neo. 

To use it, you must download and flash the Note 4 Mini V6 ROM on your Note 3 Neo and then flash it. Download Samsung Android 5 keyboard from here and flash it using Note 3 Neo custom recovery but if you had earlier installed the Note 4 Mini v6 ROM, you must be having the custom recovery already installed. The ROM is very efficient and will improve your battery life as well.

You will find multitude of enhancements on this Samsung keyboard compared to the one you already have on your Note 3 Neo. It feels much polished and better to type on. 

Flipboard Briefing is originally now bundled with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo but you can get it by installing the APK from link given at the bottom of this post. This flipboard briefing APK has been extracted from a Galaxy S6 ROM.

The best part is that the Flipboard briefing APK can be installed as a normal APK file. For those who do not know about Flipboard briefing, it gives you the daily top news, according to your interests, all in one place – all powered by your Flipboard account.

After installing the APK file, from the home screen, swipe left to the Flipboard Briefing panel and select Get Started that is located at the bottom. Review the terms and conditions and tap on I Agree to continue. Then tap on the Menu Icon and follow the on screen prompts.

While HTC One X development has been halted by HTC, folks at XDA are still churning out ROM for it on full swing. For instance, we now have its Android lollipop 5.0 ROM available for download. While it is not official by any means, it is great alternative.

HTC One X Android Lollipop Installation instructions

1. Make sure you have custom recovery like CWM or TWRP pre installed.
2. Then copy ROM’s ZIP file along with Gapps file to the internal SD card and boot into recovery
3. Then flash ROM file first and then gapps file. Make sure to do a factory reset by going into recovery again after those two zip files have been installed.
4. Reboot and never restore apps using titanium backup. Also never use Xposed with this Lollipop ROM.

Samsung Galaxy S5 camera is super feature rich and today thanks to the folks at XDA you will be able to download Download Galaxy S5 Camera to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo. This will allow you to take 16 megapixel photos too. To install it on your Note 3 Neo, all you need is a rooted device and custom recovery like TWRP and CWM.

Installation instructions:

1) Download the S5CameraPorting-v2.zip from this link.
2) Delete the Samsungcamera apk in /system/app.
3) Flash the download S5CameraPorting-v2.zip via custom recovery.
4) wipe cache and reboot.

It shall be noted that Selective focus and Dual Camera are not working.

It is now possible enable 5 x 5 rows and columns on the Note Edge by modifying the stock launcher. You must be on Android 5.x lollipop to use this patch. We have tested it on stock rooted odexed and Thunderbolt firmware. This is how your launcher will look like after applying the 5 row patch.

Download the patch from here and flash it using Note Edge custom recovery. Clear Dalvik Cache and reboot.

It is sad that Samsung did not enable 5 x 5 on the Note Edge. Even the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has 5 x 5 launcher. Nevertheless with this XDA patch you will be able to enjoy 5 row launcher on it.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge clearly does not have an edge when it comes with speaker sound quality. Fortunately XDA has made a surround sound patch that improves speaker sound quality to some extent. This mod will activate your earpiece speaker along with rear main speaker for playing music, watching movies, shows, you tube and so on – creating an illusion of surround sound effect.

This surround sound patch modifies the mixer_path.xml file in you system/etc folder. You are a rooted Galaxy Note Edge with clockwork mod recovery or TWRP installed. Here are the steps you need to follow:

1. Download the MOD from here and place them into the root of your Samsung Galaxy Note Edge android phone.
2. Boot into recovery by holding and pressing the Volume Up + home button.
3. Navigate to the file placed earlier in step 1 and press power button to flash it. Wipe Dalvik Cache ONLY. Now wipe Cache ONLY. Now wipe both Dalvik Cache and Cache. If this worked for you, you will now be able to wipe caches without mounting errors. Begin from scratch and re-root your phone.
