Galaxy Alpha development at XDA can not exactly called on-the-roll as not a lot of people are buying it. Nevertheless an XDA developer member has released a custom firmware for it that is prerooted and zipaligned.

* Based on Latest Stock 4.4.4 Samsung firmware G850FXXU2BNJ3

There is only one problem with it – when you reboot it, the firmware forgets the Wi-Fi password. For that you will have to modify build.prop and change "ro.securestorage.support" from "true" to "false" and then it everything will work fine.

XDA developers have finally released TWRP and CWM recovery for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha smartphone. Before proceeding with installation of TWRP or clock work mod recovery, make sure to backup your data and make sure you have a backup of a firmware.

Here are the installation instructions for downloading TWRP or CWM recovery

STEP 1 :
-Download and setup ADB drivers for your device can be found here Drivers !
STEP 2 :
-Download the recovery from —>

CWM
-Download odin 3 Link
-Turn of your device and go to odin mode [ Vol down + power + home button (all at the same time) ] release it when you see Galaxy Alpha logo
-Press vol up to confirm
STEP 3 :
-Now that you are in odin mode connect your device via usb cable !
-Now open Odin3 3.09 that you have downloaded.
-If there is a pop-up like Installing ADB drivers let it get finished it is usually updates !!!!
-Make sure the COM : xx (xx is USB port number it can be any number so don’t worry about it,just verify COM is lit up)
-Select the recovery (Link in STEP 2) ! Now select AP and browse to where you have .tar file and select it. Make sure you un-tick the auto-reboot button.
– Click Start. Once it says pass, remove the battery and then re-insert the battery and boot into recovery using volume up + home + power button.

How to root the Samsung Galaxy Alpha

– Download SuperSu (obviously the latest one) from here ——> Click here
– Copy that to internal sd card
– Power off your device and press vol up + power + home button (all at once)
– Select install zip from sdcard —>choose zip from sdcard —> scroll down and flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.xx.zip

In this tutorial we will show you how to enable call recording on Sony Xperia Z3 and Z2 android phones. While call recording is not legal in most parts of the world, many people use it. Sony did make call recording available on Xperia Z3 and Z2 but hide it for some reason.

Sony hide it in semcphone.apk but some XDA member was able to enable this feature and has made a simple APK file called callrecording.apk to make it available in phone dialer.

First you have to install this APK and then enable it by going into Settings > Call Settings > Call Recording. Check it and Accept notice, only if your country allow it. Now call recording button is on the top of outgoing calling screen. Call record is saved in /sdcard0/CallRecorder.

In this guide we will explain how to download and flash firmware for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo SM-N750 android phone.

First download firmware from here:

Then, follow these instructions step by step:

1. Download Odin from here.
2. Extract Firmware zip file that you downloaded earlier from above link, you will get a .tar.md5 file and some other files (optional).
3. Extract Odin zip file and you will get Odin3 v3.09.exe along with few other files.
4. Power off your Android device. Wait 5-6 seconds for vibration to confirm complete switch off.
5. Now, put the Galaxy Note 3 Neo SM-N750 in Download Mode by pressing and holding down the Home and Volume Down button together while pressing the Power button. A warning screen will come up; press Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
6. Now run Odin3 v3.09.exe (see Step 3) as an Administrator because Admin privileges is required to complete the process smoothly (only applicable Windows Vista and higher).
7. Now connect your device to your PC using USB cable. An “Added!!” massage will appear in Odin’s message box. If you don’t get the same then you should try another USB port (try USB port located in back in your desktop PC). If that too don’t work then you should reinstall the driver. If you successfully see the “Added!!” message in Odin then you are ready to go in next step. You should also see COM port with a number in Yellow if you successfully added your device.
8. Click the AP Button, and select that .tar.md5 file that you get in Step 2. If you are using old Odin then add the file to PDA button.
9. In Odin window, make sure only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time check boxes are selected.
10. Double check everything that we mentioned in Step 8 & Step 9 above. Now, once satisfied hit the START button to begin the flashing process.

11. Once flashing completed, your Galaxy Note 3 Neo SM-N750 will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.

Folks at XDA have developed clock work mod recovery and TWRP for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo. Right now CWM recovery is available only for the N7505 version. The developers have released non-tar version as it does not increase counter.

To install it root it first and use adb shell to install it. This is the command you have to type in:

dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img*of=dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery

Alternatively you can use Flashify from play store to install it.

On the other hand, TWRP for Note 3 Neo is compatible with all variants.

Install using your existing recovery like you would any other zip. Reboot and select TWRP from the boot menu.

If you would like to install using ODIN, use a tar file from aforementioned link.

Many experts once said that Windows tablets will never be able to match the affordability of Android tablets. Why are some Windows 8 tablets so cheap?

The reason why some of companies are able to sell some windows 8 models so cheap is that Intel has been subsidizing certain models of Intel Atom family that has brought the overall cost of such devices very low.

Another and most important reason is waiving license fee of Windows. Microsoft is offering windows 8 for free to the device makers whose tablets are less than 10 inches in size. And to make the offer even better, Microsoft is throwing one year of free Office 365 subscription.

Intel has said that it will be waiving off its subsidies in 2015 which will result in cost of windows tablets going up.

4. Open it from the drawer and choose "newer kitkat ROM" ( I test both and with the older I face more Force Close)
5. Click on "Proceed" and give it Root access
6. Tap on Reboot now (if not work make a full reboot manually)
7. Open your Filemanager and go to system/app
8. Here delete EmergencyLauncher, EmergencyModeService and EmergencyProvider

11. Reboot and open Note 3 Upsm mod from the drawer
12. Choose UPSM ON/OFF

14. IMPORTANT: If like me you’ve double tap to sleep module (or some other that change the action with a double tap on statusbar) disable it from xposed and make a soft reboot.
15. Then re-open from the drawer Note 3 UPSM and re-choose Upsm ON/OFF
16. On the popup choose Enable and enjoy Note 4 Upsm
17. To disable it double tab on status bar and a popup for deactivate will shown.

Instruction:
Download and install via recovery. If you don’t have a custom recovery:
1. First of all, uninstall previous version of S Health and Health Service and reboot
2. Unpack the zip
3. Put Health Service in system/app (and set correct permissions)
4. Install S Health as a normal apk
5. Put libPlatform in system/lib (and set correct permissions)
6. Reboot
7. If you have installed from recovery and you face crash when open S Health clear cache and data and delete apk with titanium backup. Then install apk from my zip manually.
