Transcend ESD400 Benchmark claim 410MB/s

Transcend new SSD ESD400 has claimed benchmark speeds of up to 410MB/s while reading and 380MB/s writing. The highlight is of course its USB 3.0 capability and attractive price tag of $109 for 128GB model and $189 for 256GB model.

Transcend will be offering 512GB and 1TB model as well that will retail for $349 and $699 respectively. Both of them are of course compatible with USB 2.0 ports but their read and write speeds will be severely restricted.

The Transcend ESD400 measures 92 x 62 x 10.5 mm and weighs only 56 grams. The SSD will also come with 3 year warranty.

Giada D2308 D2308U D2308V Specifications, small desktop with Haswell CPU and Nvidia GPU

Giada has launched D2308 tiny desktop with Intel haswell processor and Nvidia GPU. The Giada D2308 runs on Intel haswell processor and measure mere 9″ x 6.8″ x 2.15″ which means that they are very compact.

While there are many other tiny desktops available in the market like Zotac Zbox EN760 this one is also very small. In fact it is slimmer than Microsoft’s Xbox One and runs full fledge Windows 8 operating system. This is how it looks like.

Giada will offer some more variants of this model. First is D2308U which combines Intel Core i7 4500U processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX750 GPU. Second is D2308V which comes with an i5 4200U CPU and GTX650 graphics from Nvidia.

As both of these are processors for the ultrabooks the heat output is very low. Common specifications include 2.5 inch drive, 2x mini PCI Express card slots, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, LAN, 2x HDMI, 1x DVI port, 3x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0 ports and memory card reader.

Discrimination in Fifa after Costa Rica defeats Italy and Uruguay

Usually Fifa can randomly test up to two players from each team for drug testing but for the first time it tested seven players from Costa Rican team.

Argentinean soccer legend Maradona made a comment on Fifa discriminating saying if the authorities tested 7 players from Costa Rica then they should have tested seven from Italy’s team too.

The team of Costa Rica not only beat world champion Italy 1:0 but also Uruguay 3:1.

Nvidia P1761W Specifications, spotted on FCC

Nvidia is working on a tablet called P1761W that we spotted on the FCC website. Right now it is unclear if the Nvidia P1761W will come with Tegra K1 but we do know that it is a tablet.

We also know some of its specifications such as 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, stylus support, gaming-focus hardware and 200 dollar price tag.

We found that there are North American, European, and global versions of the tablet that is being referred to as ST8.

There are label drawing available right now that show the outline of the tablet with speakers on the bottom of the device. If they are not speakers they will be docking connectors.

Vido M87 Specifications, powerful tablet with a 7 inch display and 3G

Vido showed off its tablets at the Hong Kong electronics fair and one of many is the M87 that is equipped with a equipped with a powerful central processing unit supplied by the Taiwanese company MediaTek as well as 8-megapixel camera with LED flash.

The Vido M87 runs Android 4.4 kitkat operating system and packs a resolution of WUXGA that translates to 1920×1200 pixels.

Computational power is supplied by Mediatek MT6592 CPU that has clock frequency of 1.7 GHz and has eight cores. Graphics are handled by Mali 450MP4 which is clocked at 700MHz.

Lenovo Yoga 2, G40, G50, Z50, C260, Flex 2 in India

Lenovo has launched a heap of new products in India today. This include Yoga 2, G40, G50, Z50, C260 and Flex 2. Yoga 2 features a 10 point multi touch display that can be flipped back 360 degrees. This allows the user to use it as laptop, tablet, stand and even as tent. Yoga 2 will cost INR 59990.

Second is the Flex 2 which comes with a 14 inch display. Its screen can be flipped 300 degrees. It comes with backlit keyboard to let you type in dimly lit areas. This will retail for INR 41990.

Next set includes Lenovo G40 and G50 both of which are budget laptops with AMD APUs. Prices start at INR 22990.

Z50 is a multimedia laptop that packs a 15.6 inch display and Dolby digital audio. It will cost INR 39990.

Lenovo C260 is an all in one computer that is ideal for the whole family. It has 19.5 inch display and costs INR 28490.

Windows Phone to surpass BlackBerry marketshare in UK

A new graph has been released by Kantar which shows the UK market share of smartphone operating systems over the 10 year period from March 04 – March 14. In the beginning we see Windows Mobile and BlackBerry being the leader until Apple’s iOS comes out in late 2007 and poses itself as big threat to the two dominant operating systems.

In the year 2009, Android operating system enters the picture and squeezes the marketshare of Windows Mobile (which was on its deathbed) and BlackBerry (that was churning out atrocious phones like Curve 8520).

As of this past March, BlackBerry’s marketshare in UK is still higher than Windows Phone and to make things look worse, the graph shows only consumer data and not enterprise market which BlackBerry’s main market.

It shall, however be noted that if you notice the last 10 percent of the graph, the BB’s share is shrinking as more and more consumers become aware of the excellent windows phone platform.

Parallels have announced a a major update to its Parallels Access app. Previously available only for iPad, the new update brings support for Android and iPhone devices bringing the remote PC control to much wider audience.

Other list of new features include:

Micromax W092 W121 Specifications, avoid these windows phones

Micromax has launched two dual SIM windows phones W092 and W121 both of which have been rumored from quite long time. First is the Micromax Canvas Win W092 which comes with a 4 inch display and Snapdragon 200 quad core processor. RAM is 1GB that will ensure that you get access to all windows phone store applications.

On the back there is a 5MP camera and there is a VGA webcam on the front. For storage there is 8GB of flash storage that is expandable via micro SD card slot. This phone will compete with the Lumia 520 and 525 that are being sold for INR 6000-8000 now.

W121 on the other hand is bit more expensive but that gets you a bigger 5 inch display with HD resolution and 8MP camera.

However what worries us the most is the atrocious build quality that Micromax is so infamous for. People often complain about their handsets failing in less than 3 months. So the support is horrendous and so is its built quality.
