Sprint Closes Shutters of 55 Stores

Sprint which is under stiff competition from the likes of T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon is struggling to get new subscribers and to keep the ones it already has. So it is now turning to layoffs and closing stores in order to keep its profits up.

The network provider announced today that it has laid off 330 techs and closed 55 stores to reduce overall running costs. The staff in the stores were dedicated for repairing phones for the Sprint current customers.

Sony PlayStation 4 To Get Pre Loading Feature

Sony has announced that they will be enabling pre-loading feature on its Playstation 4 soon. The developer behind the game “infamous” was asked if there was a way to pre-download his game and this was the reply he got.

No preload on PS4 until April and for North America, the PS Store will update at midnight PST. So 3am EST

However it is not clear if pre-loading will be available for only his game or for the PlayStaiton 4 as whole. This is what that is unclear right now. This feature was spotted on a game called Titanfall for Xbox One but Microsoft quickly removed it and claimed it was an error.

Developers have started to allow gamers to pre-load games before even they officially release the game. This will allow the gamers to download and install most of the game so that when the game is released, they have the game already installed on their consoles.

Qik to officially shut down on April 30th

Qik a video streaming service acquired by Skype for 150 million dollars is going to officially shut down on 30th of April this year. This is a bad news for the current Qik users. Qik posted this on their site.

We are retiring Qik as the Qik video messaging technology has now been incorporated into Skype. Users can now enjoy a great experience on Skype with features such as audio and video calling, instant messaging and video messaging with contacts in their Skype and Microsoft networks.

How To Root Nokia X XL X+

Unlike Nokia Lumia phones, the X XL and X+ come with Android operating system which means you can root them if you want. So even those do not come with Play store, it is still android with a custom UI running on top. 

An XDA developer was able to root all three of them Nokia X XL X+. The guide is quite simple. First download the framaroot.apk from here and install it on your Nokia phone. Then click on Grandalf and reboot your phone.

Intel Broadwell Processors to release in second half of 2014

Intel has been selling haswell processors for a while and now those are set to be replaced in the second half of 2014 with new and faster broadwell chips. In fact, Intel has announced some of these chips for desktop machines this week where the chip maker mentioned that its parts will support DDR4 memory as well.
