Kurio has launched 4G tablet called 7x and a smartphone for kids. The phone is pretty basic, and is designed for both kids and parents who want to monitor and control activities of their kids.

Kurio 7x 4G LTE tablet Specs include Android 4.2 operating system, 8 user profiles, 8 inch display, WVGA resolution, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of flash storage and support for the LTE – only Verizon network is supported though.

The tablet comes with a protective bumper case as well. Kurio has installed a software that lets parents manage contact list and ability to manage calls  and messages. Parents can also view message and call logs.

Pricing information is not available but we will know that when the company will launch it this summer.

Coolpad did a press conference today and launched a new tablet called 9976A. Its specs include Mediatek octa core processor, dual SIM slots and 13 megapixel camera. Price is estimated a 1888 Yuan, which is around USD 312.

The Coolpad 9976A runs Android 4.2 jelly bean operating system and has a custom UI which the company calls CoolLife 5.0. The display is full 7 inches and packs full HD resolution (1920×1080). Its octa core Mediatek MT6592 processor runs at 1.7 GHz clock speed, which is backed by quad core Mali 450 MP4 GPU (clocked at 700 MHz) and 2 gigabytes of RAM.

For storage, you get 8 GB flash storage, but you can expand Coolpad 9976A’s storage by its micro SD card slot.

Other Coolpad 9976A specs include 13 megapixel rear camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, 5 MP webcam (front), GSM + WCDMA radio, NFC technology, USB port and even HDMI port.

Despite packing all that, Coolpad 9976A manages to stay pretty slim as it is mere 7.6 mm thick. Battery life should last you a day easily, thanks to its 4000 mAh capacity.

At the CES 2014 event, Haier has released three new devices – HaierPad H6000, Mini 781 and Maxi 1043. All run Android operating system. The Haier 781 is the world’s thinnest tablet as its casing is mere 6.6 mm thick.

Haier was still able to slice in the powerful Rockchip RK3188 with quad core Mali 400 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 7.85 inches IPS display and 1024×768 pixels in Mini 781. Other specs of Mini 781 include 8GB / 16GB flash storage, 5-megapixel main camera, and a front camera with 2 megapixel sensor. Suggested retail price is set at 179 euros for the 8GB version and 199 euros for a model with 16 GB storage.

HaierPad Maxi 1043 is bigger and has 10.1 inch IPS display with full HD resolution, which means you get 1920×1200 pixels packed into the tiny screen. HaierPad Maxi 1043 specs include quad core 1.6 GHz processor, 2 gigabyte RAM, 802.11n Wi-Fi, mini HDMI output, 5 megapixel main camera and 2 MP front webcam for video calling.

Haier is promising up to 6 hours of continuous runtime on a single charge. HaierPad 1043 will be available in three colors: navy blue, matte black, and purple. The suggested retail price is set at 299 euros . HaierPad Maxi 1043 will make its debut in April this year.

Kruger And Matz KM0974 is an amazing option for those who are looking for a powerful Android tablet with quad (4) core CPU as well as high resolution screen with 4:3 display ratio. It is priced at USD 699, and you get excellent specs with it.

Specs include 9.7 inch display, IPS technology, 2048×1536 pixels, quad core Rockchip RK3188 processor with 1.6 GHz clock frequency, Mali MP4 400 GPU, 8 GB flash storage and 2 GB of RAM. You also get micro SD card slot to expand internal storage. Up to 32 GB micro SD card is supported.

Kruger And Matz KM0974 includes a 8000 mAh battery, 2 megapixel main camera, 0.3 MP webcam – all of which are enclosed in black housing.

While China has flooded the tablet market with cheap Android tablets, the manufactures there are yet to properly utilize the Windows tablet market. This is chiefly due to the licensing fees for Windows, whereas the Android is totally free. Chinese tablet company, Cube has been on fire lately. Just last month, it released Talk 79S, and few days back, it released the Talk 7X, which we will be reviewing today, courtesy of imp3. The Talk 7X is more portable, thanks to smaller 7 inch display. This screen is identical to the one being used in Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (PLS type).

CUBE Talk 7X Specs include 7 inch Samsung PLS display, 1024×600 pixel resolution, Mediatek MT8312 processor, 1 gigabyte RAM, 4 gigabytes of flash storage (expandable via micro SD card slot) , Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM and a phone radio (WCDMA, GSM). There are two cameras on the unit – 2 megapixel rear and 0.3 MP front. The CUBE Talk 7X has 2700 mAh battery and it runs Android 4.2.2 jelly bean operating system.

CUBE Talk 7X Price. It is being sold for 399 Yuan (USD 65) and you can buy it in black or white colors. The body is made of plastic.

Design wise, the CUBE Talk 7X is excellent. Power button and volume control keys are arranged correctly on the right side, allowing one handed operation. On the top, you will find a headphone jack and USB port.

Samsung’s PLS screen is at par with the standard IPS display – it has decent color reproduction and viewing angles are excellent too.

There are two micro SD card slots, both of which can easily expand the mediocre internal flash storage. There is a SIM card slot too, allowing the user to make phone calls.

While using the CUBE Talk 7X, you experience no lag. Entire operation is very smooth and there are no significant delays. This is chiefly due to powerful Mediatek MT8312 processor, which is based on low powered ARM Cortex A7 architecture. It is manufactured using 28 nm processing and runs at 1.3 GHz. The CPU is backed by dual core Mali 400 GPU.

The CUBE Talk 7X is equipped with a gig of RAM and out of box, 600 MB is taken by OS’ services and background apps. Out of 4 GB flash storage, you get paltry 1.5 GB.

We are not into benchmarks, but you get 12541 in the AnTuTu benchmark test.

Call quality and signal performance are satisfactory. The radio also supports 3G, and we were able to enjoy fast Internet speeds in no time.

Web browsing experience is excellent. Chinese sites use a lot of flash content, and this tablet does not come with pre installed flash plugin. If lack of flash does not bother you, you will do just fine.

CUBE Talk 7X Review Summary. The performance of this tablet is very satisfactory, especially when you take its low USD 65 price tag into consideration. Its display is very bright. Thanks to good optimization by CUBE, the 7x runs like a butter, even though it has a dual core processor.
