Presenting Nokia N97

No no! This is not a HTC Tilt. Look carefully. It is the new Nokia N97. Nokia N97 is the new N-series phone from Nokia, which also sports a touch-screen!

It has 360 x 640 resolution (where do you get these numbers?) touchscreen. It also has haptic feedback along with the following:

  • 5 megapixel camera (with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash),
  • A-GPS and compass sensors
  • comprehensive connectivity options (WiFi, tri-band HSDPA, Bluetooth and USB)
  • 32GB of internal flash memory.

My friend, who was there at the launch event, was able to get a hands-on the N97 and has said that they slide mechanism is very nicely designed. It keyboard flushes with the unit and the whole unit then feels like one part.

Sometimes we heard that it will be a windows mobile device with zune software and sometimes we even thought it would be made by Nokia! This time, it is about a device codenamed “Pink”, which will be a cross of zune and technology borrowed from Sidekick (which is now owned by Microsoft).

Zune-based phone may be coming sooner than you expected

Rumor has it that it may get unveiled at the upcoming CES going to held in January, 2009 or 3GSM conference.
