Soon to be launched: Samsung WiMAX MID AKA SWD-M100 AKA Mondi
Samsung is all set to launch SWD-M100 (Mondi) in the US. The design is similar to Nokia N810 which is also a slider MID. I am personally a big fan of slider MIDs as you can hide the keyboard when you do not want to use them. However, there is one thing that sets the M100 aside from the rest of the MIDs available in the market. It runs Windows Mobile 6.1. It will come with Opera Mobile for the web-browsing as the IE in WM 6.1 is only good for mobile websites. Here are its specifications:
- 4.3-inch screen
- WiMAX
- WiFi 802.11 b/g
- Bluetooth 2.0
- Micro SD card slot
- 3.0 megapixel camera
- 256MB of ROM
- TV out
It will only be available from Clearwire in the US.
Commentary: The main question that comes to minds of a lot of people: Is it going to be successful with Windows Mobile 6.1 as its OS? Personally, Windows Mobile is not a bad choice at all especially with so many productivity applications under its belt. Perhaps they should go with the WM 6.5 which offers IE mobile 6 and better interface.

Intel to new logos on April 1
Intel is planning to launch its new logos on April 1st. Looks like the folks at Intel have deliberately chosen this date as most of us will think that it is some kind of prank. But after few days, soon we will realize that the change was for real.
But still, April 1st? Why not April 2?

Fuel Cell batteries anyone? – Toshiba Begins Fuel-Cell Production
We have been hearing about this sweet technology from past so many years, but no useful fuel-cell product has ever hit the market. Not any more. Next month, Toshiba will begin the production of fuel cell in Yokohama. The fuel cell will be of type direct methanol fuel cell. One of the products that will be produced will be Toshiba’s portable fuel cell. Unfortunately, since this is still its early stages, the prices are going to be too high for the average consumers costing between $100-$500.
The fuel cell technology has a lot of potential to completely change the way we use our devices. With fuel cell, it will be possible to have very light weight devices with days and in some cases, months of battery life!
