I knew from the moment I saw Windows phone that Metro UI was the future of design language, this is never going to stop, companies are going to keep ripping Metro UI and looking more and more like it, its up to Microsoft to draw the line and say this is enough and there protect their design language, everyone from HTC one with Blinkfeed /panorama UI to Samsung and its Galaxy S4 hubs which is a blatant copy of WP music hub etc to iOS 7 and Moto X with its stock WP camera UI even Android since ICS 4.0 has been copying Windows Phone, WP has the most desired design language even app developers and websites have mimicked Metro aka Modern UI OS, Metro has spread like wildfire. They even used the same messaging icon! What on earth is Samsung smoking!

Microsoft has released Xbox Music for Android operating system for the first time. This app, as expected requires an Xbox music account to work but it gives you access to all same music that Windows, Xbox and Windows Phone users have been using for some time.

However, the application lacks in some areas compared to its Windows Phone version, for instance lack of artist based radio. In other words, you are limited to searching for music to listen to. Other omission is offline music. This means Xbox music will only if you are connected to Internet. Microsoft confirmed that iOS version is in the tunnel.

Windows Phone’s upcoming update, GDR3’s details were uncovered by a craiglist shopper that bought a phone on the craigslist and got it with GDR3 upgrade pre loaded on the windows phone 8 handset. He has posted the details on wpcentral website. We already know that this update will bring the much needed support for full HD screen, which was confirmed by Tom Warren, editor of The Verge last month.

Images of the upcoming Nokia phablet, codenamed Bandit was previously leaked by evleaks, but now we have press shot of it. Of course, it will not be released as Bandit, but as Nokia Lumia 1520. Pictured in yellow color, the 1520 includes a camera that is same as the one found in Lumia 925.

HTC has launched two new phones in the market – Desire 601 and Desire 300.  HTC Desire 601 brings high end specs to the mid range. Desire 300, on the other hand is an entry level Android phone. The 601 has 4.5 inch display and looks like a close kin to the HTC Desire 600 dual SIM phone. It has single SIM slot though. Desire 300 has 4.3 inch display and dual core S4 snapdragon processor. It has an excellent 5 megapixel camera with F / 2.8 aperture and 34mm lens. Built in storage is meager 1.2GB but fortunately, you do get micro SD slot to expand it by using (upto) 64GB card. The phone will be launched in October 2013.

All you have to do is commit $300 one time payment and a contract for the next two years. Or you can pay $35 / month if you are into AT&T Next which translates to off contract cost of 700 dollars.
