Shuttle X50 – EEEtop's cousin?

Shuttle, a Taiwan based company announced the X50. Hardware-wise the X50 is very similar to the general netbooks in the market right now, but not so similar from the outside. It comes with a huge 15.6-inch display with 1366×768 resolution. It comes with the mighty Atom A330 processor, 1 GB RAM and 160GB HDD. It also has a 1.3MP webcam

The screen is sadly, does not supports multi-touch. It comes with 3 USB ports. Regarding the OS, you have choice between XP home and Vista basic. Price is going to be near $500.

HP has made available the VGA cable for the mini 1000 series. The cable is modestly priced at $19.99 (excluding shipping charges). So, if you were planning to hook your mini 1000 to your big monitor, now you do so with the help of this accessory.

It is odd to see the manufactures coming with out with so important accessory months after the actual product’s release in the market. Nevertheless, atleast it is now available.

I do not know how useful this application would be, but G-Trigger allows you to start an application by shaking your device in particular direction. Ofcourse, your device needs to have G-sensor to use this application. This means that the users of HTC DIAMOND, PRO and HD can use this application.

T-Mobile to bring T-Mobile Dash replacement soon – HTC MAPLE

Rumor has it that the T-Mobile is going to launch HTC Maple at CTIA trade show, which is supposed to be the long-awaited replacement for the T-Mobile Dash. Just like the original T-Mobile Dash, it will also come with a front-facing keyboard.

By the looks of it, it surely is going to be a Windows Mobile Standard device (non touchscreen WM smartphone). There is no information on its price.

Super Talent’s 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB UltraDrive LE and 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB UltraDrive ME are immediately available in production volumes. The UltraDrive LE is rated for a maximum sequential read speed of 230MB/sec and a maximum sequential write speed of 170MB/sec. The UltraDrive ME is rated for a maximum sequential read speed of 200MB/sec and a maximum sequential write speed of 160MB/sec.

ASUS plans to limit the netbook storage options

According to ZDNet, Asus is planning to limit the number of choices regarding the storage options. What does this exactly mean? This means that during the launch of a certain model, it will then , e decided by ASUS which model will be offered in the country: SSD-based one or the HDD-based one.

Now, is it a good news? Well, the end-consumer should be given the choice to decide between the HDD or SSD. For example: I like that fact that the EEE 1000 series has SSD as option. There are many people who want the durability of SSD. At the same time, there may be many people who store a lot of data and will want to go for the HDD option. So, the choice should be there.
