Asus is all set to reignite the mini laptop series with the EeeBook X205. The netbook brand is dead and thin laptops are in so Asus has made the right decision to launch a thin and portable laptop with a netbook-ish price tag.

The Asus EeeBook X205 has a price tag of just 199 dollars and like the expensive ultra portable laptops, it has 11.6 inch display. Other specifications include Intel Atom Z3735 Bay Trail processor, a 1366 x 768 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB to 64GB of solid state storage.

Today at IFA 2014 in Berlin, Acer released two new convertible laptops, the R13 and R14. The Acer Aspire R13 measures less than 25mm thick and has can rotate its display 180 degrees.

Its hinge has special clutch mechanism that ensures locking and stability of display at any position. This allows the user to use it six different ways. Its screen measures 13.3 inches and uses IPS display technology.

Acer offers it in two resolution 1920×1200 and 2560×1440 pixels. Inside you will find Intel Core i5 / i7 processor, up to 8GB of RAM and 1TB of storage state drive.

The Acer Aspire R14 is a completely different laptop and borrows design from Lenovo Yoga-series. Due tot his design you can use it in only four pistons which are laptop, tablet, tent and tent-pad.

Its specifications include 14.1 inch display, Intel Core i5 / i7 processor and up to 12GB RAM. There is also an option to equip it with Nvidia GeForce 820M GPU. For storage you can get it with 1TB hard drive.

The R13 will go on sale in October for 899 dollars / euro. The R14 will be a bit cheaper at 599 dollars.

Toshiba has launched Satellite Radius 11 convertible laptop which is basically a shrunken down version of its 15.6″ variant that Toshiba launched earlier this summer.

The Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 weighs 2.9 pounds. Price information for United States is not yet available but it is already up for sale in UK for 329 pounds. This means it will be a lot cheaper than its bigger 15.6″ brother that goes for around $900.

Asus has released another ultrabook today and it is called Asus Zenbook UX305. It features very thin premium design and comes with Intel Core M Broadwell processor. Asus Zenbook UX305, a 13.3 inch laptop has excellent specifications.

All Panasonic smartphones on sale run Android operating system but the company is also planning to launch a phone running windows phone operating system.

Panasonic is planning to launch its Android devices in UAE by this year end. The company has enjoyed decent sales in India with its budget phones and is planning on achieving five percent market share by end-2014. The company will be bringing their phones from India to UAE.

Managing director for Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa Shinichi Wakita told Khaleej Times that a windows phone handset is also in the works.
