HP Offering Slate7 Shimajiro model in Japanese Schools

Hewlett Packard Japan Ltd has started accepting orders for the Slate7 Shimajiro model meant for young children. Shipping will commence February 20 and it will carry  a price tag of 19,800 Yen (USD 193), plus shipping charges (2,100 Yen). Early buyers will get a liquid crystal cleaner as purchase bonus. This offer is valid till March 31 only.

This special Shimajiro model adds a variety of apps via Shimajiro club. On the hardware side, the tablet is same as the vanilla Slate7. It does however comes with a silicon case as shown in the pictures.

A little over a year and a half ago, a German company Blaupunkt decided to try their hand in the tablet market. The same company has churned out two new Android tablets – Endeavour Endeavour 800 QC and 1000 QC.

Smaller Blaupunkt 800 Endeavour QC will offer potential buyers with a diagonal display of eight inches, front video camera, and a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. Tablet is priced at 149 euros and  weighs of 428 grams and dimensions of 198.6 x 150 x 9.1 mm.

Endeavour 1000 QC features a 9.7-inch display, 2 megapixel camera and a rechargeable battery that provides up to eight hours on a single battery charge (8200 mAh). For this model, suggested retail price is set at 179 euros.
