French consumer electronics manufacture, Archos has released 80 Helium 4G LTE tablet in the market. Sporting a display ratio of 4:3, it features a quad core processor and built in 4G LTE. Slated to be unveiled at the MWC 2014 event, it runs Android 4.3 jelly bean which is not exactly the latest Android version available as of now.

The ARCHOS 80 Helium 4G is powered by 4 core Qualcomm Snapdragon unit 400 (MSM8926) with a maximum clock frequency of 1.2 GHz, and is backed by Adreno 305 graphics chip. The processor is accompanied by 1 gigabyte of RAM. For storing data and applications, you get 4 GB of internal flash memory which can be further expanded by using micro SD card. Up to 64 GB is supported. Pricing information will become available at the MWC 2014 event.

Resolution of the tablet is 1024×768 pixel. Supported bands include LTE 800/1800/2100 / 2600MHz 3G 850/900/1800/1900Mhz 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900. For communication, you also get WiFi network card, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, 2 megapixel main camera, 0.3 MP webcam, micro USB 2.0 port and 3000 mAh battery. It has a housing of 213 x 155 x 11.3 mm.

Meet the Prestigio MultiPad Thunder 7.85i 3G tablet that runs Android on an Intel Atom processor and comes with built in 3G. It has diagonal display of 7.85 inches and looks very much like an Apple iPad Mini that comes with similar screen size and narrow bezels.

Specs of Prestigio MultiPad Thunder 7.85i 3G include Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail processor (with Hyper Threading), with a maximum clock frequency of 2.0 GHz,. Graphics are handled by its dual-core PowerVR SGX GPU clocked at 533MHz. The processor is backed by 1 gigabyte of RAM. Data and applications are stored on its 16 GB of internal memory that can be further expanded by a micro SD card slot.

It runs Android 4.2 jelly bean operating system. Its screen has IPS display technology and has a resolution of 1024×768 pixels.

American company, Viewsonic has released its newest Android tablet, the Viewpad 10i that is capable of running not one but two operating systems. Powered by Intel bay trail processor, it is priced at 2499 yuan that rounds to USD 400 dollars.

Viewsonic 10i runs both Android and windows 8 operating system and is powered by Celeron N2910 quad core processor that is manufactured using 22 nanometer processing technology. It runs at 1.6 GHz and has Intel HD graphics with a maximum clock speed 756 MHz and 2-gigabyte main memory DDR3 RAM.

The display measures 10.1 inches and packs 1280×800 pixels. The data is stored on its 64 GB flash storage that is expandable via micro SD card slot. Viewsonic has really come a long way in the past 2 years as the Viewpad 10 was not really a very attractive offering.

ViewSonic ViewPad 10 Review

Frequent leaker Evleaks has leaked out the details of the unreleased Sony Xperia Tablet Z2. The tablet will feature a quad core processor and 3 gigabytes of RAM.

The tablet will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 4 core processor, 10.1 inch display packing full HD 1920×1200, triluminos technology, 3 GB RAM, 16 GB flash storage, micro SD card slot, 8 megapixel rear and 2 MP front camera, 6000 mAh battery and will be mere 6.4 mm thick.

The processor has all of its cores running at 2.3 GHz. Like the Xperia Z series, it will be waterproof. The Xperia Tablet Z2 is said to run Android 4.4 kitkat operating system.

Battery life should easily last you through the day thanks to the decent 6000 mAh battery which is sealed inside.

Hewlett Packard Japan Ltd has started accepting orders for the Slate7 Shimajiro model meant for young children. Shipping will commence February 20 and it will carry  a price tag of 19,800 Yen (USD 193), plus shipping charges (2,100 Yen). Early buyers will get a liquid crystal cleaner as purchase bonus. This offer is valid till March 31 only.

This special Shimajiro model adds a variety of apps via Shimajiro club. On the hardware side, the tablet is same as the vanilla Slate7. It does however comes with a silicon case as shown in the pictures.

Specs wise, it can rival any Android tablet out there, thanks to its powerful Nvidia Tegra 4 processor, stylus, 1GB RAM, 16GB flash storage, and 7 inch IPS display packing 1280×800 pixel resolution. It runs Android 4.2 jelly bean operating system.

A little over a year and a half ago, a German company Blaupunkt decided to try their hand in the tablet market. The same company has churned out two new Android tablets – Endeavour Endeavour 800 QC and 1000 QC.

Both Blaupunkt Endeavour 800 QC and 1000 QC run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, which works seamlessly and smoothly on its quad core Amlogic AML8726-MX processor with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz and 1-gigabyte of RAM.

Excellent range of communication radios

Communication and network radios include standard N Wi-Fi, USB port, mini HDMI output, and Bluetooth 4.0. Both tablets also have a slot for a micro SD card, 2 megapixel main camera, and display resolution at 1024 x 768 pixels.

Wonderful battery life

Smaller Blaupunkt 800 Endeavour QC will offer potential buyers with a diagonal display of eight inches, front video camera, and a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. Tablet is priced at 149 euros and  weighs of 428 grams and dimensions of 198.6 x 150 x 9.1 mm.

Endeavour 1000 QC features a 9.7-inch display, 2 megapixel camera and a rechargeable battery that provides up to eight hours on a single battery charge (8200 mAh). For this model, suggested retail price is set at 179 euros.

NTT System has released a new tablet called NTTablet 997 in European market. Prices start at EUR 200 (PLN 849), which is pretty amazing for a tablet with 9.7 inch display with retina resolution, 2048×1536 pixels, a quad core Rockchip RK3188 processor that hums at 1.6 GHz and 2 gigabytes of memory.

The Rockchip RK3188 had 4 cores, as said earlier and runs at 1.6 GHz clock speed. For storage, you get 16 GB of flash that is further expandable through the use of its micro SD card slot.

There are two cameras on the unit – a 5 mega pixel in the back and 2 MP on the front for taking selfies and video calling. It is also possible to output the display on a bigger display, thanks to mini HDMI output port.

For communication, you get 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. There is no SIM slot but you can paid your phone with it to enjoy Internet on the move.

Battery capacity is 9000 mAh which is quite frankly the highest we have seen on a tablet. So expect out-of-this-world battery life on the NTTablet 997.

Operating system is Android 4.2 jelly bean which runs buttery smooth on it. 

Wacom digitizer equipped Asus VivoTab Note 8 is now being offered by Amazon Japan in four different configurations. Japanese internet shopping site, Joshin Web is selling it in 32 GB and 64 GB capacities. Starting price is 39,800 yen and is slated to be released in late February. It should be noted that one of the models, R80TA-DLPS to be exact, is offering a recovery image in micro SD card that is included in the package.

Chi has launched a new 7 inch Android tablet with built in 3G calling in the market. Called the Chi VX1, it has notably better design and hardware configuration compared to the its previous models, V99X and V88. The Chi VX1 specs include a powerful MediaTek MT8382 quad-core CPU, and is manufactured using 28nm process. It has frequency of up to 1.3GHz, and has integrated 3G, GPS, FM, Wi-Fi, BT modules.

 

This new MediaTek processor abandons the use of PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU and instead uses ARM Mali graphics chip, Mali-400MP. PowerVR SGX 544MP runs at 286-357MHz, while the Mali GPU runs at 533MHz.

Compared to its predecessors, VX1 has a narrower frame design. The border is only 5mm, and body thickness measures 7.9mm. It has 178 ° viewing angles and refresh rate is ideal for video watching. 1280 × 800 screen resolution makes its IPS + OGS display look very sharp.

The tablet supports both 3G, 2G mobile networks and has full support for dual SIM stand by as well. Supported bands include 850/1900/2100 and 850/900/1800/1900.

VX1 has optimized GPS navigation system, and we have been told it is very accurate.

After churning out the first Firefox phone, Foxconn is all set to make the first Firefox OS tablet, InFocus New tab F1 in the market. Powered by 1GHz A31 (ARM Cortex A7) quad-core processor and PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU, it comes with 2 gigabytes of DDR3 RAM, 16 GB of flash storage, micro SD card expansion, micro USB port, and a large battery with a capacity of 7000 mAh.

So, while the specifications are not groundbreaking, the Foxconn Firefox OS Quad Core Tablet runs the OS just fine as it is a fairly lightweight operating system.

Display size of InFocus New tab F1 is 10.1 inches packing 1280×800, which is just fine for a budget tablet. Since the specifications are not that high, its 7000 mAh battery will yield great battery life.
