Trigem's Atom-based LLUON Mobbit: Finally a UMPC below $500 UMPC

Ever thought of a UMPC of under US$500? Well, meet the LLUON Mobbit PS400. According to CNET, it is too big for the pockets and it is less functional than a netbook. I don’t agree with it. It has never meant to be pocketable. It is a portable device that can run XP. That is it!

Here are the specifications of this device:

  • Processor Atom Z520.
  • 2 megapixel camera.
  • 1 GB memory.
  • Choice of 30GB HDD of 16GB SSD.
  • WiFI and Korean WiMax (WiBro).
  • Digital Television (T-DMB).

According to Cnet, the price will be “around” $411.

Good OS Announces Cloud — A New Operating System for 2009

Good OS, most known for its gOS Linux that debuted in Wal-Mart computers, today announced “Cloud,” a new operating system that boots into a browser with Google, Yahoo! and Live in seconds, and optionally boots into Windows.

Cloud uniquely integrates a web browser with a compressed Linux operating system kernel for immediate access to Internet, integration of browser and rich client applications, and full control of the computer from inside the browser.

Cloud features a beautifully designed browser with an icon dock for shortcuts to favorite apps, tabs for multi-tasking between web and rich client apps, and icons to switch to Windows, power off, and perform other necessary system functions. Users power on their computers, quickly boot into Cloud for Internet and basic applications, and then just power off or boot into Windows for more powerful desktop applications.

HTC MAX/ HTC Quartz/ HTC T8290 review

Well, this is from a Malaysian who bought this from Russia. Here is the sad part, he does not know Russian and since he is in Malaysia, he cannot test WiMax.

Here are few quotes from his review,

The specs of the device is pretty much a beefed up htc Diamond. Bigger screen (3.8″), widescreen resolution (640×800), lots of memory (8GB+microSD expansion). Of course, it comes with WiMAX apart from the WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and GSM/EDGE connectivity.

The htc Max lives up to it’s name. It’s big, heavy and thick.

You can call anyone within Yota network using WiMAX instead of GSM.

I couldn’t enjoy the full benefit of using Yota’s services, nor could I enjoy the phone due to my poor Russian (hahaha…). The phone is a little large for most people’s preference, but the big screen certainly is better than the tiny Diamond. But this device certainly sets a benchmark for all WiMAX devices to come. White HTC TOUCH Diamond pictures

We posted about the white touch Diamond a couple of months back, but we could see it in flesh. One of the visitors of my website sent me the link to the dailymobile.se who have pictures of the Touch Diamond white.

Other than the change in color, nothing else has changed. Of course, you get a matching white stylus to go with the white color and that is where the differences end.
