ASUS introduces it's EEE PC 901 with HSDPA (3.75G)

Till now, the UMPCs had the edge over the Netbooks in one area: most of them used to come with in-built 3G modem or HSDPA. The ASUS EEE PC 901 is the first netbook with built-in HSDPA!

With 3.75G, the Eee PC™ will be able to deliver on its promise of borderless one-day computing better than ever before. No longer bound to Internet hotspots, 3.75G-equipped Eee PC™ users will be able to enjoy low latency mobile broadband Internet access at high downlink and uplink speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and 2 Mbps respectively, regardless of where they are—ensuring a seamless connected experience on the go.

It is really nice that ASUS has taken the initiative to be the first one to come with first 3.75G enabled netbook. It will let the people to enjoy high speed internet without lugging around that HSDPA dongle. :)

FingerTouch Pro custom layout guide

Meda Chiorean at Teksoft has recently published an article regarding customizing the layout of the popular application FingerTouch Pro.

Fingertouch Professional is by FAR the best keyboard released for the Pocket PC platform. Big, finger friendly keys, fT9 technology, UltraKeyboard technology, predictive keyboard, multiple languages, drag-and-drop configurable keyboard, gestures, skins, magnifier, are just a few to provide an insight into the thought and research that went into developing this program. Entering text on your Pocket PC has never been this fast!

I really appreciate the step-by-step tutorial of how to customize the keybaord layout. The article highlights the fact that how much the FingerTouch Pro is customizable and modifying the layout of the keyboard is not difficult at all!

Windows Mobile 7 officially delayed – what now?

Ina at Cnet says,

Microsoft has informed some of its partners that it has had to delay Windows Mobile 7, a much anticipated update to its cell phone operating system.

With the Android news all over the web, I don’t have a happy news to share about regarding Windows Mobile. Microsoft had earlier said that it would be able to deliver Windows Mobile 7 by early part of next year, but, now the story has changed. Now, they say that they will not be able to deliver before second half of next year.

This inturns means that new Windows Mobile 7 devices will hit the horizon at the end of the 2009. This is not a happy news for the Windows Mobile community.
