O2 makes HTC X7510 available as O2 Flint

I have always been a fan of HTC X7510. Now, O2 has also launched this very powerful windows mobile device by the name, O2 XDA Flint. As it sports a slate form-factor, it can easily be confused with MIDs and UMPCs. If you keen on getting more information then you can go to this o2 page.

It is 100% similar to X7510, which include 3 megapixel camera, opera browser, Wi-Fi and GPS, 16GB internal flash, 2100 mAh battery, which make is a very powerful package. You can buy it at O2 Shop.

Do you expect this device to sell nicely in the current era of netbooks? With the netbooks avaiable almost for free with the data plans, which one would you take, this or some netbook?

Akoya Mini E1210 finally coming to Aldi stores

Aldi stores are now busy promoting the Akoya Mini E1210. Akoya E1210 was announced at IFA 2008 and it was then announced that the Aldi stores would be selling it. Now, here is the price: just £272! That is it!

Here comes the boring part. It is just-another-MSI-wind-clone.

HTC Touch Diamond backlight permanently dying?

There is a post at XDA-developers, where the people are complaining that after using the Touch Diamond for few months, the backlight goes down permanently! The screen’s backlight does not come up even after reverting back to the original firmwares. This clearly signifies that it is not due to firmwares as other HTC Diamonds are working fine.

Flashing the base ROM gives the following error:

MicropERROR
Microp Version Mismatch 0
Please update latest Microp firmware

I don’t know what it means. It is too early to make out, if the problem is hardware-related. I hope it is software-related because then, the issue can be solved via releasing firmware. But, if it is hardware-related, then HTC will have to deal with millions of Diamond owners from all over the world.

GScroll for HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro

HP brings 3G goodness to mini 1000

Gone are the days when we just wanted to take our computer with us. Now, we want to be always connected too. So far, most of the UMPCs have come with 3G/HSDPA in-built but very few netbook manufactures have come up with 3G-enabled netbook. HP has now included the option to add 3G to their current models.

Since a long time,  I have been looking for a PIM that would be efficient enough to store all my tasks and appointments but would be simple enough so that anyone can easily use it.
