The Vostro A90 has hit the shores of US with a price tag of $349, which is about nearly 1/3rd of what it costs in Japan. It comes with the usual netbook-ish specifications:
Interestingly, unlike Dell Mini 9, Dell is not offerening a linux version of it. It should be noted that $349 price tag is for the 8GB SSD model and the 16GB SSD version will cost you $424.

Sharp is all set to unveil its netbook next week in Japan. Sharp has sent several invites to Japan Tech journalists to the unveiling of the Sharp’s Netbook.
Sharp has been very successful in keeping the pictures of Sharp Mebius Netbook under the wraps. My Japanese friends have told me the pink bubble says, “your time will change”

We all love using our gadgets on the go. But, the my biggest concern when I’m on the go is how long the battery of my device(s) will last. I carry a lot of gadgets on the go. Nobody had thought 2 years back that the netbooks would become so popular. Last year, the netbooks had already conquered 20% of the total notebook market. This year, it is being estimated that netbooks will account for nearly 37% of the total notebook sales by the end of this year and about 40% by the year 2012(!).
However, by 2012, I don’t think there would be any difference based on the feature set between a notebook and netbook (except for the small size, of course).

According to Digitimes, Compal has received order from Dell to make ultra-thin notebooks using Intel’s CULV CPUs. Compal is already making ultra thin notebooks for the Toshiba and Lenovo.
The notebooks are expected to ship in the month of August.
Dell has shaked hands with the China Mobile to let the users enjoy 3G services on the go. Not only China Mobile, Dell has teamed up with other global telecom providers including Vodafone in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, AT&T in the US, M1 and Starhub in Singapore, and Maxis in Malaysia.
It will retailed at $575 in China.
