Asus X580 budget gaming laptop with Intel kabylake and Nvidia 1050 Pascal launched: Asus X580 specifications and price

asus x580 review specifications

Asus X580 is a budget gaming laptop from the Korean electronic giant that will come with latest Intel i5 or i7 kabylake processor and Nvidia GeForce 1050 GPU which is the company’s cheapest Pascal graphics card. It will go on sale for about 800 dollars or 870 euros.

Thanks to such specifications, Asus X580 will be an ideal laptop for someone who is planning to do gaming, photos / video editing , CAD and other 3D modelling software. We love the fact that it comes with standard voltage i5-7300HQ or i7-7700HQ processor, both of which are quad cores and pack immense power. Both of these are new Intel kabylake 7th generation processors that are more powerful and efficient than older i5-6300HQ and i7-6700HQ processors respectively.

Some laptop manufactures were pairing Pascal graphics cards with ultra low voltage processors like i7-7500U and i5-7200U which is not a good marriage for performance. You might get better battery life but no body cares about it when you are buying a laptop for high-end performance.

Other Asus X580 specifications include 15.6” full HD 1920×1080 pixel resolution display, 8GB or 12GB DDR4 RAM and upto 1TB hard disk. There is no word if there will be an SSD version but you can easily swap the HDD for a large 512GB SSD. It will run windows 10, of course. Keep in mind that Asus might launch different variants in other countries so the specifications mentioned earlier might be little different in your country.

While Asus X580 is not a part of Asus ROG family, it is more than enough capable of handling your gaming needs, thanks to Nvidia GeForce 1050 graphics card. This GPU will handle any modern game better than the outgoing Nvidia 950M which was its predecessor. The new Nvidia 1050 brings desktop class gaming performance which also makes the Asus X580 a decent desktop replacement laptop.

What is its competition? In USA, it will receive stiff competition from Lenovo with its Y720 and Y520 models.
