HTC has announced a new mid-range smartphone with Android operating system for the German market. The Desire 500 will hit shelves in a few weeks with its quad-core processor and 4.3-inch display. It will cost 279 euros, unsubsidized.

According to the manufacturer, the HTC Desire 500 does not support LTE 500. The quad-core processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200. This SoC integrates four ARM Coretex-A7 cores clocked at up to 1.2 GHz, and an Adreno 302 GPU. The RAM is mere 1 gigabyte and the 4.3-inch touchscreen smartphone packs just 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The internal flash memory is just a 4-gigabyte module, but thanks to microSD card slot, you can expand it up to 64 GB. The battery capacity is HTC 1,800 mAh, so you get up to 12 hours of talk time on 3G networks easily. The 8-megapixel main camera with BSI sensor and autofocus takes excellent pictures.

Qualcomm has churned out quite a lot of powerful processors lately, but recently Snapdragon S4 Pro got a lot of traction online as Asus chose to use it in its Nexus 7 2. The first version came with Nvidia Tegra 3 which is a quad core processor. While the Snapdragon S4 Pro processor is also quad core, it is much more powerful too. BestBuy has already started taking pre orders for the Motorola X phone. However, its retailers are not saying when they will start shipping the orders. Right now, only the Best Buy has listed the 16GB Motorola X, which can be purchased for $199.99 for a two year contract from either AT&T, Verizon or Sprint.

There are no customization available right now and you can buy it in either black or white. The phone will be available soon, but the three network providers mentioned above have not started taking pre orders of it. US Cellular, in fact, was the first in US to start taking pre orders of it and was also giving a $75 discount for the new subscribers and free Motorola-branded Bluetooth headsets to those who pre order now.

Since the introduction of ICS (ice cream sandwich), Samsung has removed the UMS (USB Mass Storage) mode from all its devices. Axiomatically, it is not present in Galaxy S4 Zoom. But folks at galaxy phone have found a way on how to enable it.

Basically, what you need to do is get a pre rooted ROM for it and flash it. Then install the UMS utility for the Samsung Galaxy S4 in it and you are good to go.
