3D Touch was slated to make their debut on Nokia McLaren but the phone was cancelled later but it appears that Microsoft will be bringing the revolutionary 3D Touch, buttonless interaction technology to its upcoming flagship. Upcoming windows 10 flagship will feature 3D interaction elements as a part of the windows 10 for phone user interface.

This also includes fly-out tiles and myriad new interactions like panning, browsing, zooming of texts and images. Microsoft may launch its flagship Windows 10 Lumia at the upcoming mobile world congress 2015 event and push it to the cellphone vendors by second quarter. So the flagships will arrive earlier than expected.

However take all of this as grain of salt as Microsoft is well known of removing such complex features in the final edition of their device. Also do not expect it to make its way to the lower end Lumia devices like Lumai 435 that was released last month.

We tested out the Intel Core i5 5500U processor that came on Nec Lavie hybrid laptop. The laptop did not come with discrete graphics which will allow us to properly do Intel Core i5 5500U benchmark since we be able to evaluate the performance of its built in HD 5500 graphics.

The Intel Core i5 5500U has maximum clock speed of 3GHz under turbo boost mode and 2.4 GHz under normal mode. There are 2 cores that can handle up to 4 threads simultaneously. TDP of Intel Core i5 5500U is 15 watts.

Crystal mark benchmark score for Intel Core i5 5500U is ALU 47852, FPU 43499, MEM 31295, HDD 10856, GDI 16036, D2D n / a, OGL 10325. The windows index was overall 5.1 with individual score as follows: Processor 7.4, 7.4 memory, graphics 5.1, Gaming graphics 5.5, the primary hard disk 5.9.

The PCMark 8  benchmark result is 2307. This Core i7 processor scored high in all the benchmark tests. Storage score is poor but that is due to the hard disk used in our review laptop.

This script will increase battery life of your Moto E. All you need is root access on Moto E and Smanager for this to work.

What this script does?

When your phone is in AWAKE state:
Governor = Interactive
Max = 1190000
Min = 300000

When your phone is in SLEEP state:
Governor = OnDemand
Max = 300000
Min = 300000

So basically this script automatically changes governor,min & max freq and more depending on your phone’s state which results in saving battery to great extent.

First download the script to the root of your sdcard; open SManager and navigate to the script; select the script; click on Su and boot button; select Save and reboot your phone.

The official Samsung Galaxy Alpha Qi wireless charging cover is a form fitting cover that can be used with any wireless charging pad to charge your Galaxy Alpha wirelessly. Since the back cover replaces the original back panel, it adds very little thickness to the sleek Alpha.

The main thing that is of concern other than making the profile less flush is that the Samsung logo on the wireless charging cover is matte and flat like a cheap plastic print which is not at all in keeping with the quality of rest of the phone. On the standard cover, the Samsung logo is shiny and embossed.

So why is it thick. Well they have to place the coil somewhere – it is just a sacrifice you have to make for having the convenience of wireless charging. However I would say on the Samsung Galaxy S5 the gain in thickness is almost not noticeable. So I still feel the company could have made it thinner.

HP Probook Stream 11 and Pro 11 Education Edition are the two new cheap laptops. Both of these two are part of the HP National Education Technology Assessment (NETA) that technological strategies for sustainable education and evaluate the impact of interventions in schools technologists.

HP Probook Stream 11 and Pro 11 Education Edition specifications are not very different from the standard models. HP ProBook 11 EE is an ultraportable with Windows operating system and semi-rugged rubber housing. Specifications include 11.6 inch screen with optional touch panel, Intel Celeron or Pentium processor. HP Stream Pro 11 is an ideal mini laptop for your class room that comes equipped with a 11.6 inch display packing 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, Intel Celeron 2840 bay trial processor with 2 gigabytes of memory and 32GB of flash storage.

Unlike HP Stream Pro 11 that was launched last year, the HP Probook 11 EE will cost somewhat more as it will offered to small and medium sized companies. Price and availability of both laptops for USA is not yet known.

Micro Star International loves all in one computers and the company has launched two new AIOs namely MSI Adora20 5M and AE200 5M both of which are powered by AMD Beema. Interestingly both MSI Adora20 5M and MSI AE200 5M have identical specifications too.

There are two sub models in AE200 5M has two sub models, first has 21.5 inch display packing full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. It comes with multi touch, anti glare coating, anti-flicker and blue light technology that reduces eye strain.

The 19.5 inch model has HD+ display packing 1600 x 900 pixel resolution and has same features as 21.5” model. For storage you get 500 GB or 1 TB SATA III HDD in both models.

The MSI Adora20 5M has 19.5” display with 1600 x 900 pixel resolution, AMD E2-6110 1.5 GHz quad core processor, Radeon R2 discrete class graphics, up to 8GB RAM, 802.11n Wi-Fi, DVD super multi drive and 1 megapixel HD camera. It too has multi-touch with anti-glare, Anti-Flicker technology and Less Blue Light technology. The anti glare coating is totally optional though. For storage you get a 2.5 inch SSD.

All in one computers did not enjoy a lot of success last year but it looks like this category will finally take off this year.

NVidia GeForce GTX 960 is the new graphic card that introduces the new GM206 GPU and it is also the world’s first graphics card that is capable of outputting 5K resolution.

NVidia GeForce GTX 960 specifications include 1024 CUDA cores, 1127 MHz clock speed which together promise maximum single precision floating point performance of 2413 GFLOPS and if you overclock it, you can push it as high as 3073 GFLOPS.

The reference design of NVidia GeForce GTX 960 will carry 2048 MB 128-bit GDDR5 memory with a clock speed of 7010 MHz and bandwidth of 112.16 GB/s and its output ports include one dual link DVI-I, HDMI 2.0 and three display ports. As said earlier the NVidia GeForce GTX 960 si capable of driving displays up to 5120 x 3200 (5K).

NVidia GeForce GTX 960 operates over PCI-E 3.0 bus and takes power from its 6 pin PCI-E power connector that has TDP of 120 watts. It has maximum operating temperature of about 98 degrees centigrade.
