Samsung LED lighting forum was held at Ramada Plaza Hotel in Suwon on the 29th May. More than 100 Korean developers gathered at the forum. The forum discussed the kind of opportunities that Samsung can have in the future with the 60 partners present at the forum.

Tim Cook’s D11 interview

The interview with Tim Cook that went on for more than 1 hour, resulted in some very interesting outlook of the CEO on various issues. Here is a brief of what he talked about:

*the web traffic from iOS is higher than the other phone counterparts
*the company is working on a new Apple TV
*takes a view on Google glass, and says they don’t have mass appeal
*views Apple as a company making devices that are ‘usable’ and ‘enrich’ customers’ lives and not just focus on market share
*hints at launching iOS 7 at Developer’s conference
*says will open APIs, but to the extent that it does not make the customer experience bad
*expresses that he is not cold to the idea of integrating iOS apps to Android

Device with Firefox OS to be unveiled on June 3

As a result of partnership between Foxconn and Mozilla, a device powered with Firefox OS will be announced on 3rd June. Foxconn is speculated to be a little apprehensive about Apple’s cold behavior and was searching for partners and thus chose Mozilla to increase its bottom line. Mozilla has a long list of partners including the likes of T-Mobile, Sprint, Qualcomm and LG. It is not yet confirmed what will be the device like- phone or tablet.

White LG Nexus 4 announced officially

The LG Nexus 4’s white version, that is a result of partnership between LG and Nexus has been announced officially. The press images of the same were being released of late. The date set for release is May 29th and the first place to get the modified version of Nexus 4 is Hong Kong. Some of the specs are:

*1,280 x 768-pixel
*4.7inch IPS display
*Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU
*Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
*2GB RAM

Microsoft shows it is better than Apple: Video

Microsoft loves to show how its tablets are superior than Apple’s. In a video uploaded on Youtube, it talks about how the Windows 8 tablet is better and discusses the following features: multitasking, weight, thinness and the ability to print. One of the things that still needs to be improved is the Windows Marketplace, which is still a laggard when compared with Apple’s marketplace. Have a look at the commercial to enjoy the fight:

Android 4.3 new Camera UI filmed

The Android 4.3 was spotted at Thai Expo and a video of the new Camera UI has been filmed by a Youtube user. Earlier, Nexus 4 was spotted running the new OS(picture below). Some are speculating that the Android 4.3 may be the OS that will be a part of the release of the new Nexus 4, which means the launch of Android 4.3 may be just around the corner.
