More information about MSI Wind U110, U115 and Touch-enabled Wind

MSI Wind has a lot of plans for 2009. They are planing to launch U120 in January 2009 with a new design and WiMAX/3G option for U.S. And they will also release two versions of MSI Wind,  U110 and U115 at the end of January along with touch-enabled MSI Wind, which is expected to land during the CES 2009.

Here are the some specifications of Wind U110 and Wind U115:

Wind U110:

  • Z530 Atom Processor
  • 1GB (expandable to 2GB)
  • 10-inch LED backlight
  • 160GB or 250 GB hard drive
  • 6-cell battery
  • 802.11 b/g/n

Skype 2.5 beta for Windows Mobile released and reviewed

The Skype has released 2.5 beta for the windows mobile professional(touch-screen) and standard(non touch-screen) devices. ApoTheTech gave this new beta a spin on the HTC Diamond.

I have been using the official version from quite some time. It is rock solid and does the job well.

Based on feedback from you guys, our Mobile team have overhauled Skype for Windows Mobile and released Beta 2.5. It features improved sound quality, better stability and a more familiar user interface.

Lets see what has actually changed. This newer version lets you connect via activesync too. Previous versions didn’t let you do this. I cannot say how useful is this, but it is nice to know that it is there.

WVGA – 800 x 480 resolution is best resolution for mobile browsing

Jenn, over pocketables.net did a poll last week where she asked people to vote for their favourable resolution with which they are comfortable browsing the web. Guess, who won? 55% of the readers vote for the 800 x 480 popularly known was WVGA (Wide VGA).

I voted for 1024 x 600 though. I personally find that resolution fit for the netbooks that I own. For browsing on my HTC Diamond, Opera Mobile does an excellent rendering of all the web pages that I visit(see this, this and this). No doubt that VGA resolution (640 x 480) came second in the poll. With the slew of windows mobile devices coming out with 800 x 480 resolution like HTC TOUCH HD and SE XPERIA X1, the web browsing on the mobile devices really becomes enjoyable as you have to do a lot less scrolling.

O2 makes HTC X7510 available as O2 Flint

I have always been a fan of HTC X7510. Now, O2 has also launched this very powerful windows mobile device by the name, O2 XDA Flint. As it sports a slate form-factor, it can easily be confused with MIDs and UMPCs. If you keen on getting more information then you can go to this o2 page.

Akoya Mini E1210 finally coming to Aldi stores

Aldi stores are now busy promoting the Akoya Mini E1210. Akoya E1210 was announced at IFA 2008 and it was then announced that the Aldi stores would be selling it. Now, here is the price: just £272! That is it!

Here comes the boring part. It is just-another-MSI-wind-clone.
