Cryorig has announced its new H7 Ultra RGB heatsink and its new Crona 120 fan that will show us at the Computex 2018 in Taiwan. This presentation has been an overview for the media to know what to look for in their stand. The brands get to work to show us all their artillery for this new event and Cryorig has already presented several very striking components for next week.
Intel could be on the verge of releasing an SSD with a storage capacity of up to 20 TB. The largest SSD in the chip giant’s portfolio offers significantly less capacity at 8TB, but with the help of the latest QLC NAND, this is soon to be a thing of the past. With the QLC-NAND, four bits are stored per memory cell, which simultaneously increases the storage density. This makes it possible to achieve a high capacity with a few chips.
For the anniversary of the 8086 processor, Intel is planning a Core i7-8086K with 5 GHz. There have been several indications in the past. Intel celebrates the 40th anniversary of the 8086 on June 8th, so Computex is looking forward to seeing the Core i7-8086K next week.
Samsung has introduced a new SO-DIMM, which has a capacity of 32 GB. According to Samsung, the memory is based on a 10 nm class process technology – the manufacturer does not elaborate on this. At 10-nm class is a process node with 10 to 19 nm. The previous chips each having 8 Gbit capacity Samsung made in 18 nm, the new 16-Gb chips will have experienced a small Shrink.
The motherboard is one of the main components of our computer and, unfortunately, it is usually also one in which people tend to skimp on expenses, spending a fortune on a processor, RAM, NVMe units, a top graphic of range and leaving the plate as a less important component, this is how bottlenecks begin to be born. Depending on the type of components that we are going to assemble and our full budget we must choose a base plate or another to not spend more money from the account and not be able to have performance problems. So, if we are setting up a mid-range computer and we do not intend to overclock it, we have a great choice on the Aorus B360 GAMING 3 WIFI board.
In the past days and weeks, there was a lot of talk about Intel’s problems with the next production step in 10 nm. Just recently, Intel had to admit again that it has manufacturing issues at 10 nm and that mass production for desktop and server processors must be postponed again and is now scheduled for sometime in 2019. At yesterday’s 2018 Annual Stockholders’ Meeting, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich had to answer some awkward questions. With the Core i3-8121U a first processor in small series in 10 nm is manufactured, but this is missing on a working graphics unit and so should the also emergent Core m3-8114Y be the first fully functioning desktop processor from this production.
Sony may never release Android 7 Nougat for the Xperia V but XDA community does not care. Their developers have churned out a custom ROM that not only brings Android 7 to Sony Xperia V but offers it in vanilla flavor which means no bloatware – nothing.
Installation instructions for installing Nougat 7 on Sony Xperia V:
– Download the latest build – Download Gapps – Take a nandroid backup – Recommended – Full wipe and factory reset – Flash ROM using latest TWRP 3.x Recovery – Flash Gapps – Reboot. – Enjoy
Keep in mind that Gapps do not come pre-installed in the ROM but you can immediately install them after installing ROM. Do not reboot after ROM and install Gapps immediately.
Here’s what is working:
RIL (Calls, SMS, Mobile Data) Display Audio and video Wifi Bluetooth BT Audio OpenGL rendering Sensors (accelerometer, compass, light, proximity) Sdcard auto brightness notification led Wifi,Bluetooth and USB tethering NFC GPS Adoptable storage Auto rotation
So while everything is working, there can be bugs here and there. This ROM is tested but nothing is bug-free – not even the official Sony ROM.
Sonnet has introduced a Thunderbolt 3 adapter that allows 10Gbps connectivity to the network. Already earlier this year, the Japanese manufacturer Akitio presented a network adapter for Thunderbolt 3, which is compatible to 10GBase-T and NBASE-T (IEEE 802.3bz-2016). However, this also costs almost 300 dollars.
The peripheral manufacturer, Logitech, has just introduced its new G305 wireless gaming mouse.
