If you recently bought a new iPhone or any other smartphone to use the new eSIM technology by Airtel, you might have run into this issue, mobile number inactive recharge it to get esim. Make sure you are connected to WiFi at all times.
We will show you how to solve this issue and enable eSIM on your iPhone or smartphone.
First, we will have to add email address. The thing is even if you add it in Airtel app, it will still not be added.
For this, make sure you are logged into the Airtel app using the number on which you want to enable eSIM. Then, visit help tab located on bottom of screen.
Tap chat now and then select others. Select update email address and follow instructions on screen.
Once you’ve followed instructions shown in screenshot above, all you’ve to do this is wait.
You’ll get confirmation email from Airtel to add your email address to your number. Once this is done, fire up SMS / messaging app and type this,
eSIM emailaddress
, where emailaddress is the email address you confirmed in previous steps.
You will now get eSIM data on your iPhone or smartphone. Add it and remove physical SIM once eSIM is added.
