MSI Cubi is the smallest PC with Broadwell processor

At the CEBIT 2015 tech event, MSI has launched Cubi, a mini PC with broadwell processor and windows 8 operating system. It is the smallest PC ever created by a Taiwanese manufacture. MSI did not include the Cubi in its wind box range that was powered by either Intel or AMD processors. The company will be making the MSI Cubi available by the end of March with an unknown price tag.

TrekStor WinPhone costs € 150, comes with interchangeable back covers

TrekStor is a German company that has launched a Windows Phone called TrekStor WinPhone. It costs € 150 and has a thickness of only 7.5 mm. It weighs only 99.6 grams with body made entirely of polycarbonate. Like the Microsoft Lumia range, the back covers are interchangeable by user.

TrekStor WinPhone specifications

Obviously, this was achieved at the cost of some compromises, first of which is the small battery that packs mere 1750 mAh capacity. Second while the display measures 4.7 inches, it has resolution of only 1280 x 720 pixels.

Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge: Protect any app with fingerprint reader

An XDA developer member has released an application called Finger Security that allows you to protect apps of your choice with your fingerprint. This will allow you to further increase the security by a long margin as a fingerprint reader can be used for so many purposes. The best part is that you do not have to root Galaxy S6 in order to use Finger Security app which is great as no one would want to void warranty of their new phone.

Download Official Samsung Galaxy S6 Wallpapers

We all love downloading wallpapers of top end and unreleased smartphones. Samsung has bundled a couple of new wallpapers with their Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge phones. To us they are a bit ho-hum because we seen them doing better in the past.

official galaxy s6 wallpapers download

The one shown on the left is a Galaxy S6 and on the right is the S6 Edge. The one on the S6 Edge looks better. You can download both of them from the link given at the bottom at the post and decide which one looks better on your smartphone.

Make sure to clear the clutter off your homescreen so they look just like the wallpapers shown above. We personally like clear homescreens as they show off the wallpapers better.

Download official AOSP 5.1 for Grand Duos

Android Open Source Project community has released AOSP 5.1 firmware for the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos dual SIM smartphone. Almost everything except FM radio works out of the box including dual SIM functionality. AOSP firmwares are great for those who despise the heavy touchwiz interface that Samsung slapped onto a mid range device.

Download official AOSP 5.1 for Grand Duos

AOSP 5.1 ROM for Galaxy Grand Duos (I9082/I9082L). What is working?

Wi-Fi
RIL (Calls, SMS, Mobile Data)
Dual SIM
Sensors (Accelerometer, Compass, Light, Proximity, etc.)

And here are the installation instructions:
If you were on CM 10.1 or a stock ROM prior to 4.2, upgrade to stock 4.2 first.
Install ClockworkMod recovery with SELinux support (.tar) (.zip). Older CWM will result in a "status 7" error.
Reboot into recovery

Install the ROM.

HTC Desire C Android Kitkat ROM now available for download

HTC Desire C development and updates were long abandoned by the company but folks at XDA has been churning out quality ROMs for it. Now Android 4.4 kitkat has been made available for it. However we cannot recommend it to the users as important components like Bluetooth, wireless LAN and video recording are not working in it.

However other components like Audio , Camera(Stills and Panorama) , Airplane Mode , Immersive Mode , Screen-Off Animation , USB Tethering , NFC(Only for the NFC Desire C’s) , Automatic Brightness , Omni Switch , ADB , GPS and SD Card are working fine on it. So but since most of us cannot live without built in Wi-Fi, we would still recommend getting the Android 4.1.2 ROM for Desire C.

If you still want to give it a drive, follow these instructions:

1) You need to install a TWRP. Get it by installing windroid’s universal android toolkit from here.
Flash it using this command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
2) Download the ROM and the GApps.
3) Now, reboot to recovery.
4) Run the Wipe> Factory reset, and then click on Advanced> Select System and then swipe to wipe.
5) Install the ROM and the GApps.
6) Reboot to bootloader.
7) Flash the kernel(boot.img) using fastboot by typing:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
8) DO NOT ERASE THE CACHE USING THE FASTBOOT.
9) Reboot system now by typing:
fastboot reboot

Macbook Pro: How to clone hard disk to SSD including operating system

So you just bought an SSD a k a solid state drive for your Macbook Pro and now you are looking to clone that old and slow hard disk and move all that data including the operating system to the new drive. Believe us, the Macbook Pro are still the best of Apple laptop line up and they become unbeatable after adding in an SSD.

How to clone hard disk to SSD

The one I personally recommend getting for your Macbook Pro is Samsung 850 Evo SSD. I have been using its predecessor, the Samsung 840 Evo for over an year now and it has been superb and trouble free so far. The Samsung 850 Evo solid state drives come with good enough warranty and it really hits a sweet spot when it comes to price.

Clone Macbook Pro HDD to SSD

Anyway let us get back to topic, that is how to clone the Macbook Pro hard disk to SSD. For the cloning I personally like the SuperDuper utility. This simple-to-use tool is a simple, powerful piece of software and its free version is good enough for the most users.

You can use the SuperDuper to clone the HDD’s contents to your new SSD. Make sure you have partitioned it through Disk Utility using any generic USB to SATA adapter. This way, you can make sure the drive is ready to go before you start opening up your computer and moving things.

How to charge Macbook 2015 and use USB simultaneously

The new Apple Macbook 2015 comes with a single USB C port so how would you charge a Macbook 2015 and use the USB at the same time? The solution is to use the USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter that Apple sells for 79 dollars. This is how it looks like. It adds three connections: USB-C, HDMI and USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports. The USB-C can be used for charging and another USB can be used for connecting peripherals.

Macbook 2015 charge usb port

We saw every one complaining about not being able to charge the Macbook 2015 and use another peripheral such as Mouse as the same time. The answer is yes, you can do it but you will have to cough 79 dollars to add that functionality. We really hoped Apple included the $ 79 accessory in the box but alas, it does not.

charge Macbook 2015 and use USB

The Apple’s idea is that this is supposed to be a universal port and if you would be connecting many peripherals, then we suggest getting another USB to 4 port USB hub. We found one that retails for mere $ 6 so there is no point in not getting one.
