SPB Brain Evolution v1.2 reviewed!

I always thought that games were only for fun, and they can do no good to an individual’s mental health. But I was proved wrong when I lay my hands on the latest version of SPB Brain Evolution. SPB Brain Evolution has 10 mind-bending games that really help you train your brain, and at the same time, keeps you addicted to it.

Every game in Brain Evolution passes through various difficulty levels, viz. easy, medium, hard and maximum.

MODES

There are two modes in the game, Brain Marking and Brain Training.

In Brain Marking, a few games are selected randomly for you to play. Depending on your scores, your overall progress is shown in terms of percentage. You are also assigned a status on the basis of the percentage, which starts with child level and goes upto student level. Initially, I could only get to the child level, but subsequently I managed to go upto the schoolboy level. Anytime, you can come back to this mode and increase your status.

In Brain Training mode you get to play a slew of games, but sequentially. You need to complete a certain level of difficulty of one game to unlock the next one. Continue reading “SPB Brain Evolution v1.2 reviewed!”

SBSH Papyrus 2 review: The only PIM application you will ever need for your Smartphone!

Are you a slave to your calender? Really serious about keeping yourself organized? If the answer to either of those questions is yes, then, SBSH Papyrus 2 is there to rescue you!

It is no hidden truth that the built-in applications of the Windows Mobile Smartphones are very basic in nature. My calender is full of so many important things that I am a total slave to my smartphone. It is pity that the PIM applications have never been able to make to the priority list at Microsoft. They have been busy adding/removing other features rather than making the core elements more polished. SBSH realized the need to make the things more streamlined and more organized. They took the initiative in making our lives more easier than ever.

The only PIM application you will ever need

The SBSH Papyrus 2 lets you manage your calender and tasks items in more intutive and user-friendly manner. It has all the features that will complete your PIM experience. Everything is there, except the kitchen sink :!:

GVmobile PocketBrush Review

PocketBrush is a great little application which has great capabilities to let the photographers do photo-editing on the go. It is always great if we are able to edit our pictures before emailing them or MMS-ing them to our friends when we are out of the house.

The PocketBrush cab weighs only 324kb but it packs a lot of features.

Following is the inteface of the PocketBrush. It however does not make use of the soft keys. I personally think that such applications actually do not need soft-key support as we would obviously be using the stylus to do most of the stuff in case of a photo editing application.

Tip: Switch Between Views of Calender Application quickly and easily in Windows Mobile

Calender application has 5 views: agenda, day, week, month and year. To quickly switch between the views of the calender application, make sure you have assigned the calender application to one of the hardware buttons*.

After you’ve assigned it to the hardware buttons, all you need to do is press the button repeatedly to cycle between the views.

* Incase you don’t know how to assign the calender application to the hardware button, go to ‘start’>’settings’>’buttons’

Nokia E71 review

Let me first admit, I’m a DIE-HARD windows mobile fan. But, when I was asked to do a review of Nokia E71, I first thought of passing it to one of the team-members. Later on, I thought that this looks like an interesting device. It is thin, elegant and has a lot of great features.

Just a few days ago, I’d done a big review of Palm Centro, which also had a similar design. The only physical difference is the lack of touch-screen in Nokia E71. But, the Nokia E71 is way superior device. Let’s see:

Nokia E71 review

The way I would describe E71 as “just put the Nokia E61 on a low-carb diet and after some days, you will get E71!”. Pretty funny but now you got an idea of how slim it is.

Let’s acutally see how slim it is:

Ergonomics and Usability

The device has curvy body now unlike it’s predecessor E61, which was quite boxy. The device has a nice QWERTY keypad which I found to be very usable. The device is very small when compared to Nokia E61. People with small hands who used to have trouble using the E61 with one hand will love this as the width of the E71(57mm) is considerably smaller than the E61(69.7mm)
