Some of us can’t live without our amazing little portable computers, better known as laptops. They’re remarkable little machines when you think about it. So much power and functionality from such a tiny, slimline device. What would we do without them, right?

Whether we use a laptop for work purposes, use one to satisfy our gaming needs – be it a session of PUBG or playing the array of casino slot games by the experts at NetEnt, or simply use it to surf the web and enjoy everything the internet has to offer, there is a laptop out there for everyone. Children, adults and the elderly enjoy them. They really do cater for a large demographic.

With the end of 2019 on the horizon and the opportunity to not only treat yourself and potentially buy a present for someone else, we thought we’d go through some of the best laptops of the year because, well, why not? In this space we’re continually seeing incredible innovation at a time when technological advancements have never been so amazing. So, without further ado, here’s some of the best laptops of 2019.

Dell XPS 13

A firm favourite since its release in 2019, the Dell XPS 13 is hard to fault. The camera has been moved above the screen, which is already an improvement, but the machine is also thinner and more powerful than ever before too. An incredibly slick looking laptop, the almost bezel-less new design with its luxe 4K screen is simply beautiful. Chuck in the stunning white Alpine model and the fact it’s an incredibly quick machine, and you’ve got a simply stunning option for pretty much anyone.

Microsoft Surface Book 2

A 2-in-1 laptop, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 with its detachable screen allowing it to be used as a tablet also, is a beast of a machine but with looks to match. It has a powerful Intel Core i7-8650U processor, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU, and a lovely 15-inch 3,240 x 2,160 pixel display, alongside the fact that it is more than worthy of going up against any other laptop on the market. It does have a downside though – it’s incredibly expensive. But make no mistake about it, you certainly get what you pay for with this one.

Hauwei Matebook X Pro

Hauwei’s mobile phones might have caused quite a stir but their laptops haven’t, particularly the Hauwei Mate X Pro. With style clearly at the forefront of Hauwei’s minds when they came to create this machine, the laptop looks good but also packs one hell of a punch too. It has a 13.9-inch 3K display, 8th-generation Intel Core CPU, and Nvidia GeForce MX250 2GB GDDR5 GPU, alongside a remarkably strong and reliable battery too. It’s not the cheapest laptop on the market, but like the aforementioned Microsoft Surface Book 2, you certainly get what you pay for and that is a fantastic laptop which is hard to beat.

A laptop for the gamers out there, the Alienware Area-51M is packed with power, has attractive modern styling and looks the part too. It’s standout feature is its power, though. It possesses 9th-generation Intel Core i7 processors and has the latest Nvidia laptop GPUs. It isn’t cheap but it’s certainly worth every penny. If you’re after a sleek, stylish, yet powerful device, then you’ve most definitely found it. Put simply, the Alienware Area-51M not only looks good but it performs like a dream too.

Special mentions must also go to the HP Envy 13, the Dell XPS 15 2-in-1, the Asus Rog Zephyrus S GX701 and the Google Pixelbook.
