Which graphic cards are supported by Nvidia Whisper mode? Not all graphics cards by Nvidia are supported. Basically, those graphics cards that make are based on Nvidia Pascal architecture. So this includes Geforce GTX 1080, 1070, 1060, 1050Ti and 1050. Nvidia Whisper Mode is an ultra efficient mode that makes your laptop run quieter while gaming. This works by intelligently pacing the game’s frame rate while simultaneously configuring the graphics settings for optimal power-efficiency.
If you have older 900 series or 830M, 840M, 850M or any other 800-series GPU, you are out of luck. It will not work.
So how does the Whisper Mode works? First, you need to download the latest version of Geforce experience application which is the brain behind this feature. Then it measures the power consumption of the graphic card by various detail level in games and at the same time, tries to find the most efficient high quality settings.
Nvidia Whisper mode has been profiled by the gamers and they have selected the sweet spot of top 400 games so you do not need to do any tweaking.
So how to enable Whisper mode? Fire up GeForce Experience and click on the Gear icon to gain access to the setting screen. On the left navigation pane, select GAMES, then observe WhisperMode on the right side of the screen. Click the toggle switch to enable WhisperMode. This switch will turn green. An activation message will appear in the lower left corner of the GeForce Experience window. Click OPTIMIZE, to apply WhisperMode optimized settings to game settings that have not been previously altered.
